ArawakCity.org is a site for people who live in or are connected to in some real way to Central Ohio. The focus of this site is building autonomous community through interconnecting people working on projects together.
This site is trying to be a safe-space and commercial free, so anyone posting homophobic, sexist, racist or generally hateful shit will find themselves escorted out by virtual feminist bouncers. Also any account found to be posting spam will be disabled.
This site also requires that you verify your account with someone in real life or at least through a good explanation under the why I'm here field. This is to help us weed out the spambots that tend to abuse open content systems.
In general create an account and connect to people. We are trying to build an alternative to the corporate social networking sites that are constantly data-mining and selling your info to advertisers. There are no plans to put up ads on this site, but also no plan on how to ever make money to fund it's development, so everything is volunteer at this point. Register and join us.
